In the southwest corner of India lies a small city brimming with waterfalls, forests, temples, and one of Dignity Freedom Network’s health clinics.

In this secluded community, many lack access to healthcare. This includes trafficked and abused women, as well as individuals who are HIV-positive. Dignity Freedom Network supports everyone in the village, regardless of creed, background, or economic status by providing accessible and affordable medical treatment.

In addition to regular outreach, DFN Community Healthworkers hosted a special outreach program recently, filled with messages of hope blended with a traditional Indian celebration. A local community center was brimming with delicious food and warm fellowship. The message to all was clear: we are here for you. You matter.

Most of the women who attended have never received a gift of any kind. Imagine their delight when they receive a new saree! They also share a meal together. This approach addresses the physical, relational, and spiritual needs of people in marginalized communities. They receive medical care, a warm meal, and clean clothes. Additionally, they are greeted with a warm smile and a listening ear, planting seeds of trust and friendship. This is holistic healing at its finest.

Fifty people attended this one-day special outreach! They came from various backgrounds, yet they shared one common experience – they had been hurt and excluded. Some had faced exploitation, while others had endured abuse. Life is challenging for each of the women who attended, but our health workers dedicated their full attention to every individual, affirming their God-given dignity and worth.

At DFN, we believe that everyone has a life worth fighting for. We take the time to understand our community, identify its needs, and then partner with local leaders to bring health and healing. The work across the country is 100% led by Indians within the community, who are dedicated to extending the same kindness, compassion, and generosity they once received.

Our workers on the ground in India are dedicated to providing comprehensive, trauma-informed care for sexually exploited individuals. A network of compassionate and generous donors supports their efforts. They offer the financial backing for this transformational, holistic initiative, which serves women and families who are often overlooked and live with the sting of rejection.

Make no mistake: this is a team effort involving generous donors, dedicated healthcare workers, and courageous women who are striving to rebuild their lives.

This is DFN. This is you.
